Kobayakawa Sena is a little guy who always get picked on by the bullies in school. Since elementary school, he always play the role of the 'errand boy' to the extent that he has become swift and fast in his movements. Coincidentally, Hiruma Youichi and Kurita Ryukan are looking for a fast running back for their American Football team (Amefuto) and want to put Sena in the team. To hide their new 'star' player from the eyes of other High Schools, Hiruma encases Sena in a Amefuto helmet with a dark visor and name him Eyeshield #21.

Nice and funny anime ...... and heck I learned a lot about american football . .... a sport which I knew nothing about it since .......

Yeah, it is very rare to see Japanese people focusing on American football. The designs in the manga are cool looking. Wish Americans thought of that themselves

I read the first few chapters of the manga and thought it was ok. The anime is very funny at times but some of it is very lame. For instance, when they travel to America, all the buildings are connected at the roof. To cross the street quickly Sena instead runs up a building and then across the roof. That makes no sense to me because he could just wait for the traffic light and it'd be faster. Also, there aren't police at every intersection directing pedestrians...

I think I really enjoy this series, I have been keeping up with the Anime and its pretty funny from time to time. If you are into sports Anime or Football, you shouldn't miss this series.

Sena, the main character in the story, encourages people like me, who are not that big in size to actually try to play football for once in my life. Furthermore, I truly see that football is not a one man game, instead, it is a sport that everyone in the team is important.

i like this manga too. its very exciting, in fact, its too exciting i had to stop reading it lol. its because i read too fast and eventually i caught up with the weekly realease. i didnt the feeling of waiting for a new exciting chapter so i stop reading it for the time being and wait for it to accumulate ^^.~~

kind of sucks how anime ended...and they didnt continue for manga...and too bad theres no more eyeshield manga (its over)..hope the authors makes a continuation
