Default Andy Lau Reflections On Life

Andy Lau Reflections On Life

Andy Lau (劉德華) has filmed a set of advertisements for CYMA Swiss watches recently. One of the ads, set against the tagline of "Only those who have experienced it, will know how to find colour in black and white", was accompanied by a beautiful photograph of Andy deep in thought over a chess game. In what is a simple setting, there are some deep ideas.

Talking of his experiences in showbusiness, Andy remembered the early days where he lavished in the glory and fame, but as time passed by, he learned to realise the beauty of a peaceful life. When he looked at the chess set during the shoot, he made the comparison: "Take this chess set for example, the figures are black and white, but in fact there are many more roles within them and there are numerous different endings to the game that can be full of colourful moments. Only when you have had the experience, can you truly learn to appreciate the value of simplicity."

Another of his ad shots featured Andy in a simple black suit and looking enquiringly at a model of a vintage car. The accompanying tagline was "Realising the momentary passing of the dark night and light day, will lead to cherishment of people and events". Seeing the child-like qualities of this picture made Andy remember the joys of childhood and sigh that time is passing by. He said: "Every time I watch the sunrise and sunset, I feel that there is a huge change. As one grows older, then the feeling is that time is passing more and more quickly. In the 24 hours of a day, there are many things you have not finished and people and events will skim past. This is quite a big realisation. Heaven is very fair and will give us all just 24 hours in a day. I feel that in this short time, the most important thing is what we do and who we have shared it with.
