Wasabi Mon Amour Promotion In Japanese Restaurant

TVB new series Wasabi Mon Amour <和味濃情> will begin airing on 28 January and a group of cast members, including Louisa So (蘇玉華), Bernice Liu (廖碧兒), Joyce Tang (滕麗名), Dexter Yeung (楊天經), Paul Chun (秦沛) and Wai Ying Hung (惠英紅), took part in a promotional event today at a Japanese BBQ restaurant. The show's male lead Michael Tao (陶大宇) was not present at the event because he was working abroad.

As the series is themed around Japanese cuisine, the stars took part in activities including beating a Japanese drum, making sushi and sashimi and skewers. However, the judges were reluctant to try the creations after they had played around with the food so much. Keen to uphold her title as "Beautiful Cooking Goddess", Louisa decided to be brave and battle with a lobster that was destined to become sashimi.

Joyce revealed that her character's name in the show happened to be "Ah Bo", which is the same as Michael's ex-wife. However, she quickly explained that it was a coincidence that Michael's marriage collapsed during filming of the series and she is sure that the scriptwriters did not intentionally use this name.

Asked about being spotted out furniture shopping with rumoured boyfriend Derek Kok (郭政鴻), she said that there was a group of them who went for dimsum beforehand and as she is terrible with directions, she had asked Derek to accompany her to the furniture shop. As for the reports of them being very sweet with each other, she laughed that she was not going to be seen crying in public and as long as she is not married, then anything can still happen.

This series marks Dexter's debut in a TVB series. As his mother Connie Chan (陳寶珠) is a close friend of Lydia Sum (沈殿霞), he revealed that he had contacted Lydia a little while ago, but he said he was not sure about her condition after her latest setback, so he was quite worried about her. He hoped that she will recover soon and said he will call her daughter Joyce Cheng (鄭欣宜) to see how she is. Paul also said that Lydia sounded quite weak when he last spoke to her.

With the news of Brokeback Mountain star, Heath Ledger's death, Bernice said it was a great shame, especially as his daughter is so young and will grow up without knowing her father. Talking about the use of sleeping pills, Bernice said that she does not have trouble sleeping because she does not even have time to sleep usually. She added that when she is feeling stressed, she will relax by having a chat with her father or playing with her pets.

I love the cast in this series. Promos in a Jap restaurant? Bet they ate sashimi & sushi nonstop. I would. lol. Cant wait to watch this series.
