Yesterday, Karena Lam visited children at 兒童之家 as the “聖基道愛心大使” providing warmth in the cold weather. She arrived at the location earlier so she could play with the children. She elicited endless laughter from children. She also made caring chocolate candy with the children. She expressed that the chocolate would be auctioned off online for fundraiser money. This was her visit to the centre and she admitted that she thought the centre was located within a big hospital. It turns out the layout was like an ordinary house to provide a happy environment for the children to grow up. Karena was very popular with the children. The reporter asked what she and the children were talking about. She said: “I asked about their academics, which subject they liked and one child told me their New Years wish.” Some of the children were her friends which was unexpected for Karena. Some children saw her movies too. Karena happily said: “I was surprised. I didn’t anticipate that they saw my movies. Some children said that they chose the name “Karena” because they liked me.” Yesterday, Karena made chocolate candy and she was very familiar with it. She expressed that when she was teaching English to children in Taiwan, she made a chocolate and peanut candy for them to eat. She said that she likes to bake pastry. Her ex-boyfriend have tasted her pastry and praised the taste of it.
