Born With Thin Skin, Easily Bleed By Shaving Raymond Lam Shaves Twice Daily
Born With Thin Skin, Easily Bleed By Shaving Raymond Lam Shaves Twice Daily
Raymond Lam is a popular male artiste of TVB. Not only does he use his heart (careful consideration) for his acting but he does his homework for his appearance. He gives people a neat and tidy appearance. His skin is well kept. The reporter thought that Raymond would have a lot of secrets for his skin care but he denied it. Raymond said that he doesn’t know how to care for himself. He needs advice if he goes out to buy clothes. He is the I-need-others-to-care-for-me type of person so he doesn’t have any tips for skin care. The only thing that he really forces himself to do is to be a “Man that works hard to be clean shaven”. Since he shaves a lot, he can share his experience with others.
Raymond said: “I don’t really do skin treatments. Luckily I don’t have problematic skin. Sometimes I will have acne. The most irritating is I need to shave twice a day because my hair grows fast. The hairs come out before sunset even when I shave in the morning. I really can’t shave once a day.”
Raymond continued to talk about men’s (shaving) inconveniences! Raymond said: “I have three big reasons to hate shaving. Besides needing to shave a lot because of my rapid hair growth, my facial hair is coarse while my skin is thin. I easily cut myself with shavers. When I shave, I pull out my roots which irritate my skin. No matter how cleanly I shave my face, I have a shadow (because of the roots). It’s like sandpaper when I wipe my chin with a towel. It is really exaggerated! I don’t even need to talk about razors. I used it five times in my life but I “see red” every time. It’s caused by my facial hair roots. Even if I put the razors on my face and don’t use force, I would bleed by moving the razors.”
Raymond said: “So I say to myself that I promise to keep my facial hair after I am over 30 years old. This way I would avoid the hassle. My friends showed me pictures of myself with facial hair and say that I look good. Looking at my facial hair growth, I can have a “curtain long” beard which would be dense. Ha ha! I still have time before I leave facial hair since I am still in my twenties.”
With practice, Raymond doesn’t have any expert advice but he can share his experience. He points out that an electric shaver gives a much cleaner shave than regular shaver. But it is not suitable for people with thin skin or coarse roots. You need to find one that is suitable for yourself. As to how to lower skin irritation or damage when shaving, it is actually very simple. Before you shave, you need to make your skin soft and treat your skin after you shave.
Washing your face is a way to let your facial hair absorb water to become softer before shaving. Or apply an appropriate amount of shaving cream, etc. The application of the shaving cream should be against the direction of growth. The facial hairs’ softness varies on the face. When you are shaving, you need to determine which parts to shave first. You can shave in the order: cheeks, side, neck, chin and then upper lip because you want the thicker facial hair to have more time to absorb moisture to soften. For best results, shave in the direction of hair growth. Even though shaving against the growth direction leaves a cleaner look but it will damage the skin. At the end, apply skin lotion to protect and hydrate the skin.
