I dont race, but i think a rear wheel drive car is best for racing.
AWD is not bad either

RWD with turbocharger is the best model to race with. Also it depends on what roads and condition.

Racing is more about the driver than the car. I have seen unmodified S2000's pass USD $150k Porsche turbos like they were standing still on a racetrack. (a real racetrack, not a drag strip or a stop light)
