Old cars are stronger than new cars?
I think this is truth, that old cars are stronger than a new model car, i mean they have strong body, i have seen many old cars like that, and also new cars, but i think new cars are not strong, what you think?

Depending on what kind of brand. For example, today's automobile bumpers are mainly held and made by plastic, in the old days car bumpers have a thicker metal which is stronger with light impact. Doors have not change much but the reinforcement bars, Japanese and American tend to have a smaller while European have a thicker bars for safety.

I think new cars should have stronger exteriors, since manufacturers nowadays have safety tests and crash courses, to test the car's endurance.

Old cars seem "stronger" because they were designed to be more rigid. The newer cars were designed and built to *absorb* the impact of a crash to make it as safe as possible for the people inside the car. When an older car doesn't absorb impact from whatever it hits, the shock gets transferred to the people inside.

yes, like quiksi said. new cars are designed to crumple in crash. The front, rear are designed to absorb the energy of the crash instead of transfer the energy to the occupants. watch this video and you will see the difference.
yes, the older cars for metal bumpers instead of rubber bumper, but that is mainly for style.

Old cars are stronger. They're made of steel. got a 93 Isuzu Trooper and it's been hit 4 times...just scratches and dents...the other cars were all about 200% more damaged than mine. All four cases not my fault either.
