AIM will not let me sign on, and I cant get onto any AIM website or Google.?

I'm using windows xp. Yesterday AIM was working, But I had to restart my computer, when I tried to sign back on it will not let me, it just keeps saying Connecting, I'm using AIM 6. Now it wont let me get onto any AIM website/ AOL website/ Google website. Them are the only websites I am having problems with. Any ideas on how to fix it?
