internal hd is the storage space you use inside your computer/laptop
flash is something you can easily move out/carry around because it is portable
so depends on what your use it is for
i you need it all over the place flash is better but I believe it's more expensive

Flash HDD is called SDD, which greatly reduced the using power and is also very stable. On the other hand SDD are more expensive. As far as I know only the subnotebooks use SDD.

Well, for me, I will stick to HDD for time being due to the storage capacity. SDD offer better reliability and lower consumption but it is more expensive and it cant reach 180GB for time being. The point that it is safer to use SDD because you wont lost your data when you drop your laptop is actually invalid because I wont simply let my laptop to drop!!! Maybe few years later, then I may consider it.

the SSD is much faster than the HDD. The access times the SSD can get it way faster than any HDD can obtain. right now the maximum i believe is 128 gigs and its for 500. Just wait a little while for the price to drop down and eventually all platter drives will be replaced with SSDs. SSDs also have no sound coming out since they have no moving parts, last longer, use less energy, and produce less heat. They are suppose to last you 140 years.

There are 250GBs out. Not long till they release 320GB+ They can compete in size. However, they cannot compete in price.
