My all time favourite author is Sidney Sheldon although James Patterson is not that far behind.

Terry Brookes is an awesome fantasy writer. His Shanara Trilogies are great. A good alternative to Harry Potter. Its more "pure" fantasy.

and stephanie meyer... and a lot more, just cant think right now lol.
oh and tamora pierce :]
i personally dont like tolkien that much, i cant stand his writing style, took me quite a long time to get through the hobbit x.x but the movie trilogy was AWESOME =D

As for me, it was always A.Hitchcock, or Agatha Christie, but now, i'm very fond of Robin Hobb, she as good as Tolkien with his "Lord of the ring" ! In fact, i don't remember lot of author, but i read a lot and like a lot of thing, but can't remenber well...

mm, yeah. The Firm was pretty good... i borrowed the pelican brief.. but i didnt have time to read it so i had to return it. >.< maybe when i get a break ill go read it

Nora Roberts as she has an excellent command of English and most of the stories that she wrote are pretty interesting. I think I should have read around 30 to 40 of her books until now.
