Do you read wuxia novels?
Do you read wuxia novels, like the works of Jin Yong, Gu Long, Liang YuSheng, Ni Kuang, etc. ? If so, what are your favorite wuxia novels? Favorite wuxia characters?
I like : The Condor trilogy, Xiao Ao Jiang Hu, Xiao Li Fei Dao, Tian Long Ba Bu
My favorite characters sweep up LingHu Chong, Hong Qi Gong, Zhang San Feng(although he is historical), Yang Guo, Huang Rong, and a handful of bit players.

lol...I read wuxia novels too. My favorite author is Gu Long. His stories are just full of surprises. Although I do love some of Jin Yong's and Liang Yusheng's work too.
I have a lot of favorites, but for now I can only name one at the top of my head that I really really love written by Gu Long (of course), Bi Xue Xi Yin Qiang (Righteous Blood Cleansing Silver Spear).
My favorite favorite wuxia novel character is still Da Wan from RBCSS, along with the not so bright, Ma Rulong. I really wish they make a t.v. series adaption of this novel, because it's my favorite favorite.

Yes, there are some available in English translation, such as Duke of Mount Deer and Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain. Some translation were even done by fans too. There are some translations available at wuxiapedia.org.
The TV series adaptions that I've seen so far are not the exact copy of the book. Some have minor changes and some have BIG changes. But nonetheless they can still be enjoyable.

i've read many wuxia novels since i was young, and jinyong has written by far the best works i've ever read. other writers might come up with good stories, but they don't put as much thought into the use of words, so their stories are not as compelling, emotional, complex, and well-constructed.
my favourites are shen diao xia lu (although it pisses me off alot ), tian long ba bu, xiao ao jiang hu, and lu ding ji.
favourite characters would be qiao feng and yang guo
on the contrary, i definitely wouldn't mind if huang rong and guo fu die off =.=
