I'm getting confused. What would you consider to be a date? I have asked girls out for dinner or a drink, would this be considered to be a date from the girls pov? Only from mine, I see it as a couple of people who is free to meet up. I have been told that it would be consisderd to be a date as the girl would probably expect it to lead to a possbile relationship, perhaps I am naive?
Am i leading them on?

nothing wrong with the casual meet up. I hang out with girls alone all the time, honestly, if u don't think and act like its a date, then it isn't one.
You can make it clear before hand that this time hanging out is nothing special, then they won't get ideas.

I say if you say lets go for a bite/drink = JUST as friends to hang out.
If it's for a real date-date, then say so.
Or if you're not sure, then make the first one just a hangout. And then near the end/middle of that time, as her if she wants to go "out" (emphasis it's dateish) next time. =)

i would consider something like a dinner or movie with a guy friend to be just a friendly get together. usually, if the girl wants to get into a relationship because of the dinner or movie, she likes the guy. other than that, it would just be a friends thing
