Memorizing Music

For band we need to memorize some music. Some songs are easy, the ones where the part I play is the same things repeated, and some other parts. Now I have a bad memory, I can't remember lyrics and music for songs from singers and now I have to remember and play ones on paper.
What are some tips to help?
I know playing and keep playing the piece over and over. But I'm looking for more tips and techniques.

Are you reffering on how to memorize lyrics? if so than i know what you mean

memorizing can be really hard and i have a mindset of a goldfish(3 second memory spam).. soo for memorizing lyrics i sometimes type or write the verse that i cant remember over and over again hehehe i know it sounds weird.. but it works for me

Haha, if I listen to the song for a few times, then I can actually remember the lyrics, but when I try to memorize stuff to study for on a test, then I can't seem to remember... >< lol..

i have trouble remember lyrics too...reading the lyrics and singing along to the song helps...just keep doing it...might help?

Before you begin to memorize the song, make sure you can play it well while reading the sheet music. The use of a metronome is recommended. When you feel comfortable enough to start, some of the most important things to pay attention to are the tempo, time signature, key signature, accidental sharps/flats/naturals, and dynamics. You don't need to memorize the whole song at once; take it one measure at a time and add more as you go. I hope my suggestions are helpful. =)

well if you want memorize the lirycs then study them jaaj cus unless u love that song and it would be real easy to remember but your best bet is to get a cuple of songs like 2 or 3 a day and keep singing them all day and reading them if you want and it will help.
