Lives claimed by floods decrease by 79% this year
According to State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters statistics, as of August 31, disasters caused by floods had caused a direct economic loss of 72.1 billion yuan, much lower than during the same period in previous years.
The statistics show that during the first three quarters of this year, as a result of floods, 6,627,000 hectares of crops were affected, 35,841,000 hectares were damaged (refers to the crop areas on which the actual annual output is 30% less than the usual year) ...
