The festival will start on October 23 until the 25th and the venue is at Jamsil Stadium.
The honorary ambassador for this year’s festival is Lee Joon Gi, famous for his roles in “The King and the Clown” and “My Girl.” Lee Min Woo (of the boy group Shinhwa) will kick-off the festivities with a fan meeting on the 23rd while SG Wanna Be will head the Asia AID Concert on the 24th. There is a 10,000 won entrance fee for the said concert. Another concert is slated on the 25th with Lee Joon Gi, Supernova, Lee Min Woo and Super Junior Happy.
An event that will be advertised across Japan, China, SE Asia, and other parts of the greater Asian continent will require a big-name star to advertise itself, and Hallyu megastar Lee Joon-gi was named the 2008 Seoul Hallyu Festival’s honorary ambassador for public relations.
Mr. Lee Joon-gi received his ‘accreditation’ in a small ceremony held at the Seoul Metropolitan City Hall Seosomun Building held last July 29th, in a form of a plaque handed to him by Seoul mayor Oh Sae-hoon.
The organizers stated Mr. Lee Joon-gi’s efforts in spreading Korean culture through movies such as and appearances in popular TV dramas such as “Iljimae” as reasons for his selection as the festival’s honorary ambassador, and expressed great hope that Mr. Lee would fulfill his given role to the fullest.
All Hallyu fans out there can look forward to Mr. Lee as he stomps through Asia to advertise the Seoul Hallyu Festival.
