According to TOM.com, McDonald’s latest promotional advertisements starring Alan Luo (罗志祥) and Rainie Yang (杨丞琳) have been replaced by a new version starring Alan Luo by himself.
Chinese online forums are rampant with speculation, with the vast majority of the opinion that McDonalds may change the advertisement because of pressure from the Chinese public. Several years ago, Rainie displayed a lack of knowledge of Chinese history, resulting in a large portion of Chinese mainlanders seriously criticizing her.
Rainie (23) has starred in "Meteor Garden or 流星花园" and was hostess in "Guess Guess Guess, or 我猜我猜我猜猜猜". She is popular in Taiwan, but not so in mainland. Once when asked by Jacky Wu (吴宗宪) how many years the War of Resistance against Japan lasted, she didn't know the right answer. After hearing the right answer, she cried: "Only eight years?"
On 5th this January, there was one post titled "Rainie Yang Endorses McDonald! Can You Accept that?" The post asked people to resist products endorsed by Rainie Yang. In just two weeks' time, more than 3000 replies followed.
Mcdonalds confirmed that they have changed the commercial, but they didn't give a reason.

i like her too and thats pretty harsh. but i guess the mainland people would be like that, since she did not know that, and gave that response afterwards.
