Hi I can't play my Gamecube game on my Wii? Or is it my wireless Gamecube controller?

Hi I am trying to play my Gamecube game on my Wii. I plug the receiver on Port 1. I plug my Gamecube memory card on Slot A. When I press buttons on my wireless Gamecube controller, it flashes green. The receiver it also flashes green light too.

Is it my Pelican Gamecube controller & what I am doing wrong? I can't even play my game? Please help!
My Gamecube wireless controller does NOT have channels switch.

Until the game actually comes on, use your wii mote. You seem to be doing everything ok, so this is the only thing I can think of. The Wii does not respond to the gamecube controller until the title screen. Otherwise try a regular gamecube controller.
