The quality isn't that great, it is virtually the same, just that it looks different and has a better feel.
Not as bulky.

something weird happened on mine, it suddenly started pushing the 'a' button by itself and randomly, too. the touch screen would also be stuck at the middle...that happened for a while, and now its stopped. but i have a feeling it'll come back again.

I don't have the DS Lite, because mine's the first and original DS. But I do have friends who has the DS Lite. Appearance wise, it looks sleeker and smaller (by a bit) from the first DS. The plastic (to me) looks quite cheap. But look on the bright side, you can find most of the DS accessories for the LITE and not so much for the original DS (that fits conveniently). Hope this helps.

The DS lite is more lighter then the original (weighs less), The battery life also lasts slightly longer then the original, the stylus is also larger, so its ergonomically better for your hands. But because the handheld is smaller its actually harder to hold, it will make your hands sore.

Shouldn't it be obvious that the psp has better graphics then the ds?

DS lite is great but it still needs to improve on the case where you can get chip off and the power of the system needs more speed!

My friend owns the old version and hates that the screen is so dim and the entire machine is so clunky. I love my DS Lite. It's light, compact and the touch screen is great when you purchase a thin screen protector. The the screen brightness is awesome. You get at least 4 different brightness for the screen. Though the top screen of my DS Lite turns blank after my long term use of the system. I found a defect when I took my DS apart. I think when they assemble the system the wires of the screen was placed in the wrong position causing the DS lite to eventually have the blank top screen after long term use. Anyway, like I said I opened mine up and moved the wire over so it doesn't get squished and cut out on me.
