How do I pass by Davy Jones Locker in POTC: At World's End on Nintendo DS?

I just started playing as Will for the second part and I'm stuck in a room where I'm standing on a platform with tar bombs by a door and on another platform are 2 ghosts with a place to hold fire and a place to set something on fire. I can't find fire! I can't see a way to climb anywhere, can't go back through the door and if I go over the ledge I die.
