I don't have a playstation 3 but I know a couple of people who do. Over here in the US, a Playstation 3 costs around $600.. that isn't pocket change.. I don't know if I will ever be able to purchase one

PS3 is losing all of it's exclusive games to the XBOX360. It's pretty much worthless now unless you really hate microsoft that bad.

i'd rather spend that money on a new cheap laptop, or pimp on my computer so it can handle better games

I hear ya... that is a good idea.. ps3 costs way too much and I would also rather have a laptop instead
