Is it worth buying the 80gb instead of the 40gb ps3 if you have no interest in using games from ps2 or ps1?

no not really unless you want to download a whole lot of stuff from the psn store like demos and vids

The 40Gb is missing two usb ports I think?
But the 40gb is fine, if you need more space later its easy to upgrade the hard drive.

The 80gb also has a few extra multi-media inputs like more USB ports and Memory Card readers (CF Flash, SD, Memory Stick Duo, etc.).

Other than that there is the obvious larger amount of space.

If you can do without those things then I would say go for the 40 gb. Otherwise get the 60 or 80gb. I still think the 60 is the best as it actually has the PS2 engine in it along with the PS3 stuff.

whole idea of the 80gb, apart from it being dearer is if you want to play the ps1 and ps2 games on it. so if you have no interest, go for the 40gb, but then you'll have to buy all new games for the ps3. wouldn't it be better just to buy the other one just incase. my friend got the 40, but wanted the 80, but there was none left, because he didn't want to buy all new games, games are dear, they are between 60-80 Euro here.

just buy the 40gb ps3 the games are only £40 and coming down all the tme serousily buy one its amazing
