If I buy a PSP Slim, will I be able to downgrade it to 1.50, or to a version where downloaded games work?

i am thinking about whether to buy my friends old psp, on version 1.50 or whether to buy a psp slim.
i want too buy my friends one, as i can play all of my games i downloaded from mininova (utorrent) on it, but if i get a psp slim, will i be able to downgrade to version 1.50, or to a version where i can still play these games?

if i am you....i will but new "hack" psp slim...about the game, u can download again if it cant play on the slim version...
