How do you know what subjects to choose?

This problem is getting to me, I'm 14 years old, and yea, it's over a year until I choose my subjects for college I know -_- but I have actually been thinking about it a lot these 2 days [probably because of my family bringing the subject matter up].

I have thought of some subjects to take, but they need to go with each other if you know what I mean, and somehow it's a hard choice in picking subjects

So yea, how did you go abouts in picking your subjects?

there's two way to do it. 1 you pick something that you think can make you get a good career in the future. Doesn't matter if it's interesting or not..you just pick it for your future.
2. You pick something that you are good at, something that you really think is fun and don't think of the future at the moment


There's a reason why I studied clothes design. You know I didn't wanted to be unhappy and suffer for 3 years in college..so I picked something that I was interested in and something that was fun. When you are picking what subjects to take on college it's very important...but yet not. You can always change when you go to uni all depends on what you have your priority on.

I'm going into college this fall & i was thinking about this too.
I know i'm gonna pick subjects that interest me as a future career..but since its only my first year..it might change. I heard most people change their mind on what their major is halfway through college. But yet i'm gonna choose classes that balance out so i dont end up failing x_x

thats really hard for me too. im almost graduating from highschool and i still donno what i wanna major in.

I dont know how I will choose my college classes but high school is easier i bet but its still hard. First our school provides graduation plans we can follow. Ranging from the minnimal classes to the students that wants to have better classes i guess. Trying the fit the things needed in the schedule is the hard part. I just mainly follow what classes needed to be taken then just choose my electives on there

Choose something that u like doing, as u dnt wanna pain through a 3 year course. Be reasonable of course, as ur future depends on this. How will u make a living? Can u cope with the course chosen? Is this what i really want?

I just try out the subjects and if i like it, i continue on taking it, i guess? hhehehe...

you should choose something you are interested in, it make for an easier learning experence. if you have not found out waht you are interested in take as many course in different subjects as possible. This way you can explore all possible options. its better to have a job you are interested in instead of one where you are only doing it for the money. The satisfication of a having a job you truely enjoy surpasses making alot of money. I am studying Economics and Accounting. When i was first introduced to Economics and Accounting i knew it was for me. I could do economics and accounting everyday and not get bored of it.

i'm in year 11 and my subjects are a bit of everything coz i haven't chose a career path yet
