Do you know what kind of jobs that takes 4 years of college in the medical and health field?
A current friend of mine goes to San Jose State University. She took Biology and Chemistry related classes while she was there. But she doesn't know what to major in or what she can be. Do you know what kind of jobs that takes 4 years of college to earn a degree in the medical and health field? What school do you have to go to? And What's the average salary a year?
Thanks for answering. =)

Not too sure in US, but in Canada (Quebec), we have 3 yrs college program that lands you a job right away into the medical field. ie: dental hygienist, nurse, lab technician...

Seriously... she can do any job with chem & bio. You can do research...that is like a crappy job though ($30K+) ...she can also go into other fields that aren't science related like business...($40k+). Your major and job/career don't HAVE to relate. Trust me.

If it is not too late, your friend can apply to Pharmacy school. That is an undergraduate degree with potential of $100K once she comes out. Pharmacy are a hot field right now with all those pharmacies opening. But long hours though and it is retail so you need a certain amount of tolerance for people. Another good field she might want to considered is Optometry. That is another good field with income potential of $100K to $150K working for a chain (IE. Walmart). Think you can apply to Optometry school after a couple years of undergraduate studies.

There are now joined programs 6-8 years. University of Auckland New Zealand offers 6 years program directly from high school. Some universities in Australia does the same. I prefer 6 years over those 8 years degree. That's only for MD not include specialist. Let says you want to be a pediatric, go through the 6 years program and another 3 years residency. 9 years. You should leave your high school around 17. When you're 25, you're already specialist comparing to those at least 27-28.
