Story:
This story takes place probably during the 1920s in the countryside. The Fong family lives in a small village along with other families. The Fong family consists of Yau Wei, Yau Wei's mother and grandfather. Yau Wei's best friend is Ah Ngau. They work in the fields each day while the girls work at the tea plantation. After a long day of work, everyone takes a break and drink tea, everyone except the Fongs. Everyone is curious as to why they are forbidden to drink tea. The truth will be revealed later.
Later in the story, Ah Ngau and Yau Wei will have friendship problems because of the appearance of Mui Nga. Ah Ngau fell in love with Mui Nga who, in turn, likes Yau Wei. Outside of the love story, they also make tea. There are scenes of how they pick the tea leaves and how they use a special wok to "cook" the leaves. The Sung family's daughter, Sheung Wah, fell in love with Ah Ngau and she became the fourth person in this four-people-relationship. Ah Ngau decided to get married with Mui Nga. On the wedding day, Mui Nga jumped out of the wedding carriage and explained that she never loved him. She wanted to marry him because she didn't know how to explain how she felt to him. She claimed that she loved Yau Wei. Heartbrokened, Ah Ngau began to have tough feelings for Yau Wei.
The truth is revealed about the Fongs. Yau Wei's father was an excellent tea maker, however, someone had placed poison into the tea and caused raging arguments between the merchants. Yau Wei's father claimed that he did not put any poison into his own tea and he died because of all the harsh rumors. Yau Wei decided to start making tea like his father. He opened up his own plantation. With the help of Mui Nga and his family, he slowly began to develop his own business. At the end, Ah Ngau truly realized that he loved Sheung Wah and married her. Mui Nga left for a long time because Yau Wei's first love came back but at the end, Mui Nga returned because Yau Wei loved her the most.
