I heard that in grown hairs hurt like a bitach. So, i think the general rule is to trim the bushes if not you will end up with a bunch of prickly stubs when it grows out. It probably feels like a porcupine in your pants.

waxing is obviously only for chicks.
laser hair removal is a huge business. check the classified section in your local paper and you'll see how many ads there are.
oddly enough it doesn't even require a doctor to operate the machine.

supposely girl likes guys without pubic hair while they are doing it(i hear from my friend) and while you are doing it without pubic hair you become more aerodynamic and faster reflexes like bikers. (dont no if its true try it for yourself)
