I used to use Internet Explorer, but once my friends introduced Firefox to me in University (since almost everyone used it), I switched to Firefox. I personally think it is better because you get to customize it with your own theme, you get to see your downloads, have your own tabs and so forth. But the bad thing is that it spoiled me with remembering my passwords, so sometimes, I have to try to remember them when I am not using my laptop.
However, I am using Internet Explorer again, on websites that contain Asian characters (like this site). Although I can't read them, I rather see the words, rather than square boxes. I can't seem to install the Asian languages thing on my laptop, so I have NJ Star, which is annoying because it only reads the characters on Internet Explorer and not Firefox.

Hands down - Firefox is the winner.
Much more user friendly, less crash prone, and add-ons are a great way to enhance functionality.

Firefox all the way! Too many spyware, viruses and hacks designed for IE.. and the new IE which should be better securiy wise.. sucks interface-wise (if you used it you'll know what I mean) and it's bloated.

btw kimahnna:
Reading asian characters can be read just fine with FireFox.. just configure windows to support east asian characters, I believe it's under the Region & Language Settings under Control Panel.

i definitely say Firefox. It's fast, safe, and ez 2 use. Altho, I also use Opera. It's actually a real browser. Unlike Firefox which uses Netscape's engine...Opera uses it's own engine. Opera very like on system resource. Good for older and slower system.
