MAC suck and it's overpriced! Stick with Windows XP. Wait until Vista Sp1 comes out around Spring 2008.

i used both platforms.
performance, functionality, user friendly - vista
appearance, virus-free, design programs - mac

so i'll use mac for design programs cos there are nice fonts!

the only reason why macs aren't really targeted for virus is because no writes hacks/malware for macs. they are more focused on windows because they have a bigger market share.

Vista because Macs cant play games unless you want to use bootcamp or you can find some game that is made for mac and windows.
