I've only been paying attention to the Sony Ericsson ones so I don't know anything about the nokia ones
Need a cell for university in fall and know a friend that has connections

Nokias are ok... but I'd prefer Sony Ericsson or Motorola... personal favorites...
I had a nokia phone in the past, its not great but it does its job...enough functions to last u through ur day.

agreed i think you should just stick with Sony Ericssons they probably the make for phones right now...of course thats only my opinion. Admittly i m using a samsung right now and i love it D600, Samsungs are easier to use than Sony Ericssons. if your gona get a Samsung get D900 my friend has one and it's really really good.

i might go sony ericsson, but i know connections that can get me nokia phones at 50% off...
so like a 1500 dollar phone would be around 750!
hard to say no to that

the build of nokia phones r really reliable though. my friends drop their phones like there's no tmr and still works, i had a nokia 6620 phone, which was pretty decent except for the size.
i was gonna get a samsung phone, but i read many reviews that criticizes the samsung phone's battery life. that's when i chose sony ericsson.
all in all, it really depends on what ur budget is and what u plan to use ur phone for. like do u want it to have good music support? good camera? etc.
