Should a computer be left on?
Do you think it's best to leave your computer on or turn it off every night? I used to turn mine off each night but then someone made the analogy of a car saying it was not good to turn it off & on like a car restarting it would wear out faster. Then I thought well if I made that same analogy leaving a car running all the time would wear it out even faster. What's your opinion should you turn off your computer each night to save electricity or leave it on all the time so it will last longer?

In my opinion I think that sooner or later your computer will burn out if you leave it on 24 hours a day. I don't know much about computer but I think that if you are the type who uses your computer for sometime then turn it off and reopen it again then obviously you will wreck it faster than leaving it on, but if you are the type that takes alot of care to your computer it will be saved for a long time.

I usually leave mine on downloading things.
And since I need my laptop for every period at school, I normally leave it on standby.
But restart it once in a while, esp when you have just updated Windows or anything else important. Tends to slow down my PC a little when left on standby too long and eventually uses a lot of RAM

I've left my PC on 24x7 for like 2-3 years. It is 5-6 years old now. Never have a problem. did you know that monitor consume the most electricity. If you turn it off when not in use then your PC is at low power consumption when its not processing anything.

it actually is better to leave ur computer on (as long as ur computer has really bad cooling), since u'll be keeping the computer at a constant operating condition. the bad part however, is u're left with thinner wallet
