Cathay Pacific is pretty good. You get your own seat back TV, so u can watch whatever you want to watch... I just think they're a little pricey. I'd pick Cathay over a lot of other airlines though, if price wasn't a factor.

My thoughts on this airline. Well firstly I'm a chinese-canadian and so naturally I feel more comfortable speaking in english most of the time. So I guess the flight attendants there are good enough for me to communicate with them.
I did find that the seats are much smaller compared to other airlines that I have been on. I especially did not like the planes which had the remote for the tv on the inside of the seats. Each time I moved around in the seat it would light up the "need flight attendant" button. It was annoying because even when I didn't need help, they came over..... :( i think that annoyed them too after many times. Service overall wasn't horrible, but then of course I didn't find it being the best it can be. A rating of 1 (worst) to 10 (best) i would give them about a 7. |

Oh.. I enjoyed my flight with Cathay. I recently fly with Cathay from Los Angeles to Hong Kong and then Malaysia to Los Angeles. The seat is spacious and the food in great! I love the services provided by the flight attendant. There is monitor screen located behind each chair.
I had my 1 yr old baby and they even gave me a seat for my baby from LA-HK flight bcos the flight is not full. They also provided a child kit (consist of diaper, lotion) and baby food onboard too! Even though some might think the airfare is a bit costly, but I think I got a pretty good deals. I think Cathay have a good aircraft maintained and I think it will be safer to fly with it. I definately will be a return customer for Cathay. |

Not to pull this off topic... bit Air Canada has really stepped it up in the last little bit. Re-designing their interior cabin and putting seat back TVs in place, service on the long haul flights aren't too bad. The only real problem I have now with them is their Ground Crew.

i've just flew to HK with Cathay Pacific 4 months ago and i lived in san francisco, ca. the departing flight was pretty bad: stuffy and hot, bad technical service like really bad tv/movie channels but the returning was really good except the seat(w/out foot rest) and the chair wont lean back =(

On my trips to Malaysia, I've flown with EVA, China Airlines, and Cathay Pacific. Cathay Pacific was the best, hands down. The service was better, you get to watch movies on your own screen, and the food was better. But I've heard from friends that Singapore is even better than Cathay Pacific.
My only complaint about Cathay Pacific is their baggage handling. They've mishandled my baggage twice and delay my baggage to the next flight another time. |
