can you suspend your xbox live 30 day trial?

I just got my xbox a few days ago and i wanted to search xbox silver for demos and stuff and since the only games i have is table tenis(which came with the console) and oblivion. i didnt want to start my trial till i had an actual multiplayer game since it kinda defeats the purpose. so can i suspend the account till im ready to use it or did i just get screwed by microsoft and waste my free trial?

Looks like you just wasted your trial. No way to suspend it. Sorry.
